Now with VS2008 being released obviously a lot of people also want to run WSCF in it.
I have an updated WSCF.addin file which you need to replace the original one with (the location of the .addin file depends on your install option).
Please note that this has not been broadly tested but customers have reported successful execution of WSCF inside VS2008.
Download WSCF.addin_VS2008.zip
Yup, works great. Thanks for your efforts.

I installed WSCF for VS2005 and then grabbed the .addin file from the zip (above) and copied it into the Addins folder under VS2008 in My Documents. I get a 'the system cannot find the file specified' error when trying to load th addin in VS2008. What am I doing wrong?

I don't even know where to replace the WSCF.addin since there is no original WSCF.addin in any of the installation folders...

I had installed WSCF 0.6, and had replaced the WSCF.addin from the addin provided in the WSCF.addin_VS2008.zip. When I restart my VS2008 Team Edition, working under Vista 64x, I get the following error The Add-in 'WSCF - Web Services Contract-First' failed to load or caused an exception. Would you like to remove this Add-in? If you choose yes, the file it was loaded from, 'C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MSEnvShared\Addins\WSCF.addin', will be renamed. Error Message: The system cannot find the file specified. Error number: 80070002 Is this a version incompatibility or doesnt work on Vista 64x. I am a great FAN of this product, and I have been using it since quite some time :)

Mahavir, did you uninstall 0.6 before? Otherwise, try to make sure that the path *within* the .addin file points to the correct location of the WSCF installation.

I do still get the error The Add-in 'WSCF - Web Services Contract-First' failed to load while trying to add-in to VS2008. any solution? Thanks Jyoti

How do I get the command line version of wscf? It seems the downloads only provide the studio add-on, I need to build my interfaces from the command line, preferably from within maven.

Hi Steve,
wscf.exe, it is in C:\Program Files (x86)\thinktecture\WSCF 0.7
Cheers,
Christian

hi,
i just wanted to save time for those who could not get thinktecture working.
1.download installable thinktecture wscf 0.7 and install it
http://www.thinktecture.com/media/7478/wscf0.7.zip
2.if in vs 2008 you may not see addins folder in my documents folder just create folder addins and put the addin xml file.
3.open vs 2008 and addins manager and install.
job done!!
regards,
kris

Hi Christian,
i have some xsd defintions with complextype and several inheritance. the ms xsd.exe does not handle this proper and xsdobjectgen.exe do asking for namespace names (which is not needed, cause of definition in xsd).
Now my question:
Can the wscf.exe be used for generating csharp classes out of xsd files like the ms xsd.exe or other does? And does it work?
Which commandline switches must then be used?

Will thw WSCF 0.7 work in VS 2010? If not, when do you anticipate having an add-in for it? Thanks.

Lying disguises our mortality, our inadequacies, our fears and anxieties, our loneliness in the midst of the crowd. We yearn for the comfort of familiar lies to create a more amenable reality. What do you think?
